These burners are made for the SE3/ SE3A type engines. This is the older style meths burner phased out in 1977 in the U.K. This was for safety reasons as solid fuel that followed was not going to run on the floor and catch fire! Mamod no longer therefore make meths burners, but we have sourced excellently made high quality burners for older engines. These carry our normal no-quibble guarantee so you can buy with complete confidence. Just one thing to remember; todays meths does not burn so hot as in the old days and so just possibly, your engine will not run quite so powerfully. However, you will not get so much soot around the boiler from methylated spirits compared with solid fuel, which adds to the value of being authentic!
