steaming
and the wheels turning.
We appreciate this
is a
"silver service" concept and
that most customers are pretty
much
hands-on. But if you
want to
make life very easy, we will do the job
for you.
See below for costs*. If you have any
questions
we will be pleased to
assist.
From Our Own Engineer
"My first
adventure into
the
world of tinkering began when I
was a small boy and
wanted extra pocket
money.
So I found
an old Suffolk Punch lawnmower, stripped it down, refurbished
it
(don’t
ask me how!) got it working and sold it. With my Dad
enlisted as
an aid,
lawn mowers
began to turn up in their dozens, and
I
worked through
each
one
mended
it and sold it
on.
I then moved onto
tinkering
with motor bikes, then
cars, then model gliders, then racing 1/5
scale
model
trucks
and cars and the list goes on
!!!!
One day I spotted
a Mamod
SR1 and thought ‘I had
one of those as a
child,’ and for the
sake of nostalgia, I
bought it. It was a bit
battered
and
bruised and didn’t run well, and so you’ve guessed it……
I
dismantled it!!!
That was the
start of an
all engrossing hobby
which has seen many engines pass through my hands.
There
aren’t many problems that
I haven’t encountered with these little
engines, and
I am very
happy to be Model
Enthusiasts engineer
as it enables me
to
utilize
all of my years of
tinkering and help people who are just starting out
in
this
hobby.
I
would
dearly
love
to own
a full scale Burrell, but I
just don’t have the room
to dismantle
it!!!!"
