What is a Unit Engine? Well as far as we can see it means that it is possible to run in units of 1, or 2, or 3, or 4 and so on building up to a V8 (or even a straight 12!)This engine is manufactured ready to assemble (and then ready to run) with no machining required. You do have to connect it to a supply of pressure. That can be in the form of steam or compressed air. It is important to note that this is not a toy but it is educational. All colour of a toy is absent allowing the mind to concentrate on the mechanical function of a steam engine. It is also OK to connect the engine to a compressed air supply but that is likely to be for static demonstration purposes rather than a mobile model.
